PAROHIA ROMANO-CATOLICĂ „PROVIDENȚA DIVINĂ” DIN CHIȘINĂU ÎN PERIOADA INTERBELICĂ

Abstract

Din coloritul confesional al Chișinăului a făcut parte, încă de la începutul secolului al XIX-lea, și comunitatea romanocatolică. Articolul prezintă istoria acestei comunități în perioada interbelică, nu înainte de a prezenta pe scurt evoluția ei de la apariție și până în anul 1921, când, de rând cu celelalte parohii din Basarabia, Parohia „Providența Divină” din Chișinău a trecut sub jurisdicția Diecezei de Iași. Sunt oferite date despre păstorii care s-au îngrijit de catolicii din localitate, despre numărul acestor credincioși, despre vizitele episcopilor de Iași în comunitate, despre situația materială și cea sacramentală a parohiei, despre misiunile populare care au avut loc aici. Pe lângă aceste date, articolul cuprinde și unele informații cu privire la dificultățile cu care s-au confruntat preoții care au activat aici, precum și la contribuția catolicilor din Chișinău la susținerea materială a Seminarului din Iași.The Roman Catholic community was also a part of the confessional colour of Chisinau since the beginning of the XIX century. The article provides the history of this community during the interbelic period, but not before providing shortly its evolution from the beginning till 1921, when, along with the other parishes of Bessarabia, the Parish “Divine Providence” from Chisinau passed under the jurisdiction of Iasi Diocese. There are provided data about the priests who took care of the Catholics from the locality, about the number of these believers, about the visits of bishops from Iasi in the community, about the material and sacramental situation of the parish, about the popular missions that took place here. Besides these data, the article comprises some information regarding the difficulties that the priests who worked here confronted, as well as the contribution of Catholics from Chisinau to the material support of the Seminary from Iasi
