CONSIDERENTE PRIVIND EVOLUȚIA CONCEPTULUI DE CALITATE A VIEȚII

Abstract

In the article „Considerations on the evolution of the concept of quality of life”, the author examines the concept of quality of life, which was launched in the seventh decade of the last century and has evolved rapidly in the social sciences. The author highlights the intellectual advantage that the concept offers, namely the possibility of evaluating the most complex event possible - human social life. The article presents the specific features and categories of quality of life indicators, which deal integratively and synthetically with the problems of human existence and development. The author concludes that the functionality of a social system, its quality, is largely determined by its performance capacity, by its possibilities to provide members of society with adequate ways of realizing their personality - both individually and socially.
