Administrația Chișinăului interbelic: tendințe de modernizare [Articol]
    (Lexon-Prim, 2023) Xenofontov, Ion Valer
The scientific article is based on archival documents, the press of the time, iconographic sources, memoirs and literature. The author concludes that Bucharest has shown distrust in the representatives of the old Russian administration of Chisinau. At the same time, there was reluctance on the part of the former officials, who did not speak Romanian and were unfamiliar with the new requirements of the Romanian state. Litigation, corruption and failed attempts to modernise the city were not foreign to the municipal administration.

STUDENŢI ŞI PROFESORI DE LA INSTITUTUL DE STAT DE MEDICINĂ DIN CHIŞINĂU (ANII 1980)
    (Lexon-Prim, 2023) Xenofontov, Ion Valer
The study presents the varied and complex atmosphere of daily student and teacher-didactic life within the State Institute of Medicine in Chişinău during the last decade of the existence of the USSR. The students from this higher education institution, although educated in the idea of developed socialism, compared to the previous graduations, analysed the specifics of everyday life more critically, and they achieved the escape from routine through general culture. Future doctors consciously attended the student scientific circles organized at all departments. The practical skills and investigative methods learned under the guidance of the lecturers served as a scientific early school for the young researchers. With the economic crisis of the second half of the 1980s, some of the State Institute of Medicine in Chisinau graduates, tired of the daily routine, had to retire outside the republic. The perception of former students, currently established teaching staff, about the new realities of life and the connection of today’s students to these innovations is not an equivocal one. The departments were occupied by university professors directly involved in the political and ideological activity. They were obliged to perfect their knowledge by attending thematic lessons and conferences held at the Institute, some of them were graduates of the Institute of Marxism-Leninism. In order to improve the professional development of teaching staff, the members of the departments conducted courses in the profile institutes of the Soviet Union, called ”basic” (”golovnâe”), which implemented the provisions of the supreme state and party leadership in the research system. As pedagogical forms of knowledge (content) transmission, theoretical and practical activities were used (each student had a record sheet of each patient), along with the practical methods of knowledge transmission, audio-visual methods were used (tape recording, films, projectors with color slides).

PAVEL SOVETOV (1927–1991) : UN JURIST ÎNTRE ISTORICI
(Lexon-Prim, 2023) Xenofontov, Ion Valer; Dragnev, Demir
Pavel Sovetov, with studies in the legal field, although he did not have a classical training in the field of history, manifested himself fully in this scientific field. Soviet medievalist V. Koroliuk characterized Pavel Sovetov as “a brilliant self-taught man”. He is considered the founder of the scientific school of the typology of medieval society in Moldova and South-Eastern Europe, a consideration that allowed the avoidance of unilateral treatment in the perimeter of historical research. Among the topics addressed were the socio-economic dynamics of law in medieval Moldova. It is significant that it has theoretical interpretations regarding the typology of feudal society as a whole, and those regarding Moldova in particular. The foundation of these visions lies in the connection between state and private property. For the first time, it presented a new model of agrarian development and the medieval social structure in Moldova.
