The Russian Revolution of February 1917 brought some big changes among all the peoples of the Russian Empire. The Orthodox Church of Bessarabia, through the Diocesan Congresses, supported the idea of territorial and political autonomy of Bessarabia, also insisting on church autonomy. At the Diocesan Congresses of 1917, major decisions were adopted, important decisions for the further evolution of the diocesan church life.
