    The towns of the basin of the Prut river reprezent a new tampon region between Republic of Moldova and European Union. From the hierarchical point of view, the towns of that region can be classifi ed in 4 groups: Less then 5 thousands ihabitants (Costeşti, Corneşti, Iargara) 5-10 thousands inhabitants (Lipcani, Briceni, Ocniţa, Cupcini, Cantemir) 10-20 thousands inhabitants (Edineţ, Glodeni, Făleşti, Nisporeni, Leova)  More then 20 thousands inhabitants (Ungheni, Cahul)

    APRECIEREA GEOLOGICĂ A BAZINULUI HIDROGRAFIC PRUT

    In the geological structure of the basin of the Prut river there are units of orogen and units of platform. The crystalline foundation in the north is at depth of a few hundreds, but in the south at depth of 4500 m. The sedimentary blanket is differently formed of Paleozoic rocks – Neozoic.

    The riverside of the Prut river has an important role in the development of the small and medium towns in the aria bymeans of water reserves, ecological state, degree of disruption. The infi nitesimal fl ow of the small rivers become vulnerable in the freshet periods and can cause immense fl oods.

    Marea Neagră reprezintă un bazin unical, cu o istorie geologică complicată, un regim hidrobiologic care s-a modificat mult în timp și cu variații de nivel importante pe tot parcursul evoluției sale. Este cel mai important bazin de dezvoltare a bacteriilor chemolithoantotrofe care influențează dezvoltarea, fără precedent, a hidrogenului sulfurat (H2S) și sunt prezente procesele anocrobe, care imprimă bazinului un caracter meromictic

    ASPECTE PRIVIND GENEZA ŞI EVOLUŢIA LIMANULUI KUIALNIC

    Limanul Kuialnic, amplasat în zona de litoral a Mării Negre, are o geneză aproximativ asemănătoare cu toate limanurile mării. Adică, a trecut prin mai multe faze: de râu, de vale adâncă, de golf, de lagună şi de liman. Toate aceste faze care s-au perindat în perioada Postglaciară au fost influenţate de caracterul regresiv-transgresiv al Mării Negre. Limanul Kuialnic s-a desprins definitiv de Marea Neagră prin formarea unui cordon litoral la finele sec.XVII.
