Item Probiotic strains as systemic biological anti-inflammatory agents(Editura USM, 2024) Borshchev, Yuri; Burovenko, Inessa; Borshcheva, Olga; Protsak, Egor; Borshchev, Viktor; Galagudza, MihailTherapeutic control of the intensity, duration, and quality of immune-inflammatory processes is fundamental to the successful treatment of most infectious and non-infectious diseases, including autoimmune disorders. The aim of this study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory potential of probiotic strains. In an experiment on male Wistar rats using a model of systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS), significant reductions in key inflammatory markers such as TNF-α, IL-1, IL-12, IFN-γ, and MCP-1 were observed following the administration of a probiotic mix of L. acidophilus (LA-5) and B. animalis subsp. lactis (BB-12), as well as the isolated strain L. delbrueckii TS1-06. Improvements in myocardial functional indicators, behavioral responses, and accelerated reparative and regenerative processes were noted, suggesting the potential of these probiotic strains as candidates for therapeutic agents used as slow-acting anti-inflammatory drugs.
