Some aspects of the winter wheat photosynthetic apparatus resistance to drought
(CEP USM, 2024) Shevchenko, Viktor; Bondarenko, Oksana
Changes in pigments and proteins content of chloroplast membranes in winter wheat varieties of different resistance under the influence of a drought were studied. The loss of pigments and main structural proteins was greater in less resistant varieties. It was established that the more resistant varieties differed in the increased content of low molecular weight proteins already in the control. Under the drought effects, the relative content of low molecular weight protective proteins increased. Thus, it is shown that the content of proteins of 36, 21 and 16 kDa can be one of the molecular markers of drought resistance.

Reacția soiurilor autohtone de grâu la acțiunea factorilor de stres în condiții de câmp
    (CEP USM, 2024) Sașco, Elena
Common wheat, in the course of domestication, developed unique or differentiated mechanisms of adaptation to abiotic stressors through morphological or growth, physiological and biochemical pathway modifications. Classification based on the plasticity of the response to drought stressors under field conditions (Relative Water Content and Dry Mass), and at 46o C temperature under laboratory conditions (Cell Membrane Stability Index) showed a distribution of wheat genotypes into 2 clusters. The genotypes Mirg./Od.162/M79 and M5/Mirg./Od.162, set at the smallest Euclidean distance 4.3 with the highest Mean values (72.5 and 72.8) were categorized into the cluster with the most advanced tolerance and can be used in improving the genetic gain for drought tolerance.

Primary diagnostics of drought resistance of wheat genotypes under osmotic stress
(CEP USM, 2024) Platovschii, Nicolai; Zdioruk, Nina; Calugaru-Spataru, Tatiana
The primary drought resistance of wheat plants of Moldavian and Ukrainian selection to induced drought caused by different sucrose solutions (3, 5, 10, and 16%) was studied. Testing of six wheat genotypes from Moldova and Ukraine revealed a distinct distribution of seed germination rates at sucrose concentrations above 16%. Genotypes showed a sharp response in root development to 3% and 5% sucrose compared to aboveground parts. These reactions of the root system can allow the classification of genotypes according to drought tolerance. This method provides an effective tool for the early selection of drought-resistant genotypes, supporting sustainable wheat cultivation under water stress conditions.

Peculiarities of manifestation of the degree of transgression in populations of winter bread wheat for inheritance of breeding value elements
(CEP USM, 2024-10-07) Demydov, Oleksandr; Suddenko, Yuliia; Kyrylenko, Vira; Humeniuk, Oleksandr
The objective of this research was to identify the characteristics of transgressions degree in terms of main spike productivity in populations of the second and third generation of winter soft wheat. The material for the research comprised 30 hybrid combinations created through the use of a full diallel crossing scheme of six winter soft wheat varieties carrying wheat-rye translocations (WRT). There were: 1AL.1RS (Zolotokolosa, Columbia, Ekspromt), 1BL.1RS (Svitanok Myronivskyi, Legenda Myronivska, Kalynova). The involvement of the local gene pool of winter bread wheat-rye translocations represents a highly effective measure that can serve as the next stage of significant improvement of varieties in terms of yield.

VARIABILITATEA UNOR TRĂSĂTURI CANTITATIVE LA GRÂUL DE TOAMNĂ ÎN CONDIȚII DE SECETĂ
    (CEP USM, 2023) Sașco, Elena
It has been researched the response of some quantitative traits at the early ontogeny stage of the wheat genotypes M79/M5 (aristate), M79/M5 (nonaristate) and Mirg./Od.162/M79 under conditions of water restriction adjusted with polyethylene glycol (PEG 6000) in concentrations of 10% and 16% at temperatures of 22oC and 12oC. Variance analysis revealed PEG desiccation with major weight in the phenotypic variance of Germination and Stem/Root ratio (80.2% and 74.3%). The temperature was accounted for 85.2%, 88.8% and 88.0% of the variance of Root, Stem and Whole Plant. Both stressors produced 38.5% and 57.0% in phenotyping the Integral Plant Index. The high values both for Heritability coefficient in broad sense, but also for Genetic advance over the mean predict an advantage in the improvement of wheat during drought.

ACTIVITY OF FS 2 IN FLAG LEAF AND DEPTH OF THE TILLERING NODE TRITICUM AESTIVUM L.
(CEP USM, 2023) Platovschii, Nicolai; Zdioruk, Nina; Ralea, T.; Gore, A.
With the help of BAS Reglalg, it possible to control the depth of the tillering node in the soil. It was found that the experimental variants had higher levels of PS2 flag leaf activity compared to the control variants. In the heading phase, the activity of PS-2 of the flag leaf is the highest. The use of Reglalg contributes to the preservation of PS-2 activity during the period of intensive aging of the leaf blade, this affects the duration of the accumulation of dry matter of seeds in the ear, delaying the death of the leaf by about 1-2 days.
