Item Stolbur spread in some potato genotypes grown in the Republic Moldova(CEP USM, 2024-10-07) Bahsiev, Aighiuni; Zamorzaeva, Irina; Melian, LolitaTesting of 11 potato genotypes for the stolbur disease was carried out in plants grown on the experimental plots of IGPPP, MSU during the 2023 season of vegetation. A low level of 'Candidatus Phytoplasma solani' infection was determined by nested-PCR analysis in all analyzed genotypes. Overall, the percentage of infected plants in the potato field was only 14.6%. In addition, the presence of phytoplasma infection was detected in the tubers of infected potato plants, while it was not detected in the sprouts that appeared on these tubers.Item Transcriptome profiling of tomato response to phytoplasma infection(CEP USM, 2024) Mitina, Irina; Grajdieru, Cristina; Bahsiev, Aighiuni; Tumanova, Lidia; Zamorzaeva, Irina; Mitin, Valentin; Juříček, Miloslav; Muller, KarelTranscriptome sequencing is a valuable tool, which allows the researchers to study the dynamics of gene expression and identify genes, which control economically important traits. In this work, genes involved in tomato response to ‘Candidatus Phytoplasma solani’, a bacterial pathogen which can cause severe economic losses, were studied by transcriptome sequencing. As a result, 143 genes were found to be differentially expressed in the infected tomato plants, compared to healthy plants, 81 were upregulated and 62 downregulated. This analysis can shed light on the mechanisms of phytoplasma induced host gene expression regulation and on tomato response to phytoplasma infection.
