In this research, the author wishes to emphasize the importance of the hotel industry in the development of Moldovan tourism industry. Underlining the main weaknesses the hotel industry faces: discrepancies in the quality of services, confused and inadequate legal framework, uneven and inefficient distribution of accommodations. Optimizing the quality of hotel services is impossible without: a favorable legislative framework, support and involvement of the competent authorities, integration into the international hotel industry and improving the investment climate.
