At the same time, it is important that the statistical data used are reliable, exhaustive and also comparable. An analysis of statistical indicators of library activity in state and private higher education institutions was carried out. Institutions creating institutional repositories, thereby forming new forms of information resources that provide not only open access to scientific publications, but also participate in the creation of research capital. The institutional repositories are an important tool for the accumulation of research and the creation of the image and reputation of the university. This definition, which is essential in organizing knowledge, requires constant control activity. Authority control is designed to ensure uniqeness and uniformity of access points in the bibliographic database of the shared catalog.
