The power of nuclear weapons has prompted nations to attempt to con-
trol both the spread and use of these weapons. There are still sufficient states which
support the necessity of nuclear weapons possessing in order to guarantee and assure
international peace and security, this fact not corresponding any more to the situation
we presently face. The costs of these weapons are very high and the weapons are also
extremely destructive. If we do not get rid of them, it will only be a matter of time before
the weapons are used. The world cannot allow that to happen, but till there are states
concerned in maintaining of their nuclear power, the nuclear arms ban is more fictive
than real.
