In this article we will analyze how the process of development in digital communi-
cations has facilitated the protection of human rights on the one hand, but also admitted
interference in the right to privacy. How these processes are regulated at the level of the
international legal framework and examined individual cases at the European Court
of Human Rights. We will present conclusions and opinions on how the jurisprudence
of the Court once implemented by states can raise the level of protection of democratic
rights.
