    Incriminarea infracțiunii de trafic de ființe umane în legislațiile internaționale

    Human trafficking is a crime that violates human rights. In order to deter criminals and prevent other crimes, states have an obligation to investigate, prosecute and punish criminals. As the number of prosecutions or convictions for human trafficking offenses seems to be very low in each part of the month, the article addresses how different states in the European Union criminalize the crime in their legislation, the way of investigation and the evolution of convictions, as well as how traffickers manage to lure their victims.

    INFRACȚIUNEA DE TRAFIC DE FIINȚE UMANE – BAZE TEORETICE

    Every year, millions of men, women and children are trafficked around the world in conditions equivalent to slavery. Of these people, thousands are young women and girls lured, kidnapped or sold into forced prostitution and other forms of sexual servitude. The relevance of the article consists in the study carried out on the analysis of the definition of the crime of trafficking in human beings, by studying the international legislation in force, as well as the national one; the involvement of international organizations regarding the eradication of human trafficking; the factors that cause people to become victims of traffickers; but also the efforts undertaken by the Republic of Moldova, through the institutions that have competences in the field of eradicating human trafficking.
