Item Diversity and functioning of phytoplankton in the Dubasari water accumulation reservoir [Articol](CEP USM, 2014) Ungureanu, Laurenția; Toderaș, Ion; Tumanova, Daria; Ungureanu, GrigoreDuring the period 2009-2011 the Dubasari lake phytoplankton was represented by a total of 90 species and intra-specific taxons, where Bacillariophyta, Cyanophyta and Chlorophyta species are prevailing. Numbers of phytoplankton ranged from6.16 to 13.76 mln.cel/l with the biomass from 4.27 to 18.41 g/m3 in the spring and from2.13 to 35.99 mln.cel/l with the biomass from 7.02 to 24.13 g/m3 in the summer, and from 3.5 to 13.3 mln.cel/l with the biomass from 2.91 to 17.61 during autumn. Share in the phytoplankton numbers belongs to cianofite algae, and in the algal biomass to bacilariofite algae. The maximum intensity of production processes was recorded in the summer, primary production values being located within 0.84 to 9.95 gO2/m-2 24 h. Seasonal and spatial fluctuations in lake primary production are accompanied by fluctuations in phy- toplankton biomass, community structure of plankton algae succession, changes in nutrient elements concentrations and water transparency values oscillations. There were established variations of the saprobe index values within 1.68 to 2.72. Most saprobe index values were within limits of the β-mezosaprobe zone and indicate attribution to the water the quality classes 3a -”satisfactory pure” – 3b “moderately polluted”.Item Poezia lui Vasile Romanciuc în exegeza literară (I) [Articol](2025) Lupan, SilviaThe article aims to present how Vasile Romanciuc’s poetry published until the 90s of the 20th century was perceived by literary critics. The whole approach follows, in diachrony, the critical discourses of some famous names from Bessarabia: Andrei Țurcanu, Mihail Dolgan, Ion Ciocanu, Alexandru Burlacu, Grigore Chiper, Eugen Lungu, etc., in order to highlight the way in which various critics interpreted the poet’s creation and how the poet’s volumes were perceived and evaluated in the two eras (totalitarian and post-totalitarian), emphasizing the fact that the critical discourse, like the literary one, was influenced by the censorship’s ruthless eye, which is why the interpretation of texts was made, during the communist period, only within the limits allowed at that time. At the same time, we have tried to bring to the readers’ attention poems that have not enjoyed the look of a critical eye, although they represented true gestures of courage in a society marked by ideological freezing.Item Modalități de transpunere în limba română a construcțiilor fixe din romanul Crimă și pedeapsă, de Fiodor Dostoievski [Articol](2025) Druță, IngaIn literary translation, one of the greatest difficulties in transposing from the source language to the target language concerns fixed constructions. Idioms and proverbs reflect the history, civilization and common knowledge shared by members of a community. Each language, with its expressive possibilities, is part of a cultural, social or geographical context, and the semantic fields related to the vocabulary of different languages often do not coincide. The paper follows the techniques and strategies for transposing fixed constructions from the novel Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky from Russian into Romanian: semantic equivalence, direct transfer, periphrasis. In this process, the solutions proposed by translators maintain, in most cases, the denotations and connotations of the original, as well as the plasticity of the image, the national specificity, the register identity.Item O versiune prescurtată a Vieții cuvioșilor părinți Varlaam și Iosaf de la Indiia. Considerații filologice (1) [Articol](2025) Verebceanu, GalactionThe article examines some philological aspects of the text contained in the manuscript entitled The Life of the Reverend Fathers Barlaam and Joseph of India. We are considering the compressed version of the well-known hagiographic novel Barlaam and Ioasaf, which circulated, especially in the ecclesiastical environment, for the honoring, in the service of November 19, of the Holy Martyrs Barlaam and Ioasaf. The manuscript belonged to the Vărzărești Monastery in Lăpușna county, after which it ended up, in 1926, in the collections of the former Historical Monuments Commission (Bessarabia Section), a fact that emerges from the information accompanying the manuscript. The manuscript does not contain data about the person who copied the text, nor the source from which the text was transcribed, nor the year when the text was copied. A possible dating, the 18th century, contains the sheet accompanying the manuscript, made by Leon Boga, who is rightfully the author of the manuscript’s identification, but no supporting arguments are presented in this regard. Currently, the manuscript is kept at the National Museum of Romanian Literature in Chisinau under the quota ms. rom. 1487.Item Inovații lexicale de origine engleză ultrarecente (II) [Articol](2025) Caruntu-Caraman, LiviaThe language is constantly evolving. In contemporary society, linguistic contents are significantly marked by communication, information, current needs, transformations, so that social innovations generate lexical innovations. Or, terminological innovations come to fill some notional gaps caused by current societal changes. Continuing the research dedicated to lexical innovations, the present study aims to complete the number of ultra-recent vocabulary items of English origin, not included in dictionaries for the present. Extracted mainly from mass media sources, they reflect the current state of the dynamics of the Romanian language. As in the first part, the inventoried lexical acquisitions are presented according to lexicographic rigors (semanticized, properly defined, spelled and pronounced correctly, included in lexical-grammatical classes, provided with illustrative material, with functional-stylistic mentions, with some appropriate equivalents, etc.).Item Transpoziția – mecanism de interacțiune între semantică și sintaxă [Articol](2025) Bărbuță, IonThe article examines the relationship between the meanings of words and their syntactic functions, extending the analysis to the interaction between lexicon and syntax. This relationship is essential for sentence organization: lexical semantics determines the syntactic functions of words, while syntax regulates their integration into a coherent utterance. The interdependence between semantics and syntax not only ensures the grammatical correctness of the sentence but also facilitates its precise interpretation. The study aims to describe the complex mechanism of interaction between a word as a part of speech and as a part of a sentence, highlighting how semantics and syntactic functions contribute to the construction and comprehension of utterances.Item Eminescologia – o preocupare constantă a cercetătorului Dumitru Apetri [Articol](2025) Caraman, VladThe article reveals the contribution of the scholar and writer Dumitru Apetri to Eminescian creation and Eminescology – masterful fields of Romanian philology. It can be seen that his interest in the work of the unique poet and in the process of its reception on several meridians of the world is long-lasting and constant. Various are the methods of investigation practiced by the researcher: studies and articles, literary chronicles, reviews, communications at symposia and conferences, etc. The following facts are particularly noteworthy: participation with communications in all 13 editions of the World Congress of Eminescologists and the publication in 2020 of the book Eminescu sporind a lumii taină, devoted entirely to the work and personality of the great Romanian classic. It is distinguished by a considerable contribution to Eminesciana and Eminescology and the first chapter of the recently published volume which is entitled Marii clasici ai literaturii române. Vocația universalității. Whether it refers to the East-Slavic cultural-literary space, which the author knows in detail, or whether he meditates on some reception processes that occur in the vast European area, the conclusion is the following: the Eminescu miracle certifies at the stage present a vocation of universality and an enviable posterity.Item Apa neagră – semnificații și reprezentări ambivalente în proză [Articol](2025) Gîrlea, OleseaThe article focuses on the interpretation of water in its dual beneficial and malevolent form in the prose of Romanian writers (V. Voiculescu, M. Eliade, Al. Popescu, R. Găvan, V. Beșleagă) and American writers (C. Oates, J.T. MacGregor). The theoretical part of the article is centered on the relevant analyses of the imaginary made by C.G. Jung, S. Freud, M. Klein, Cr. Gavriluță, A. Poruciuc, and on the concepts of ambivalence, splitting, double representation, the ego’s drive, and the Dofl legend. The author captures the blackness of water (turbid, viscous) in contrast with the characters’ experiences. The negative aspects of water increase in intensity, and water becomes a useful tool for probing the obscure areas of the characters’ unconscious. The article discusses the aquatic imaginary, from the everyday representations found in expressions and popular sayings to literary works, where the aquatic imaginary intensifies in negative depictions.Item Itinerarul devenirii ființiale și reconstituirea traumei în romanul Ventrilocul, de Corin Braga [Articol](2025) Ivanov, ConstantinThis article presents a literary analysis of the imaginary universe in Corin Braga’s prose work Ventrilocul, with a particular focus on elements of rupture and the ways in which transgenerational traumas can shape the destiny of the characters. I have employed a hermeneutic investigation, appealing, to the extent that it can be adapted, to literary psychoanalysis. This approach has allowed for a detailed examination of the characters’ journeys of reconstruction and existential becoming, as well as the mechanisms through which they manage to harmonize their inner states in order to activate the process of integrating opposites. Through the process of individualization, the characters uncover, in the depths of the unconscious, a space of confrontation between past and present, from which multiple layers of trauma emerge. Thus, beyond the artistic imagery, we discover a fascinating universe that foregrounds psycho-ontological dilemmas, identity fractures, and possibilities for reorganizing the reality in which Corin Braga’s characters exist.Item Proza lui Vlad Ioviță: de la contingența rurală la crize existențiale [Articol](2025) Țurcanu, AndreiVlad Ioviță’s true vocation is discovered with the publication of Trei proze (1971). The novella Se caută un paznic included in this volume is a first attempt at literary dystopia in our country, the author using humor and irony to unveil an artificial system with congenital cracks, powerless in the face of the impetuous energy of the authentic man. The other two novels and the writings published later focus on the existential crises of characters caught in the tribulations of erotic triangles. Blestemele and the poetry of eros, with their tumultuous challenges, are marked by an ambiguity always on the edge between violence and purity through the dramatic and at the same time lyrical interference of fatal passions and anguish, of impetuous love and death as cathartic liberation. Love as a raging demon with twists of exorcization raises Vlad Ioviță’s narratives to the tension of an unmistakable style. The narrative voices of the hypersensitive characters interspersed with the cold and neutral authorial instance, endowed with a heightened sense of visual metaphor, turn a prose of admirable intellectual finesse.
