STAREA ACTUALĂ A CHIROPTERELOR DIN ADĂPOSTURILE SUBTERANE DE LA CUPCINI
(CEP USM, 2023-02-13) Caldari, Vladislav; Nistreanu, Victoria; Larion, Alina; Dibolscaia, Natalia
The research was carried out in the years 2015-2021in the northern part of the country in the limestone mines near Cupcini during the hibernation and reproduction period. In total, more than 700 specimens from 4 bat species of 2 genera were identified. The maximum number of indivduals and species was observed during the hibernation period. The dominant species was Myotis blythii. During the active period the species migrates to other temporary shelters to reproduce. Mine flooding has been observed over the years that causes the disturbance for chiropterans. All the species are listed in the Red Book of Moldova, which prove the importance of this site for bat fauna conservation in the northern area.
