COMPOZIȚIA CHIMICĂ A EXTRACTULUI DE PROPOLIS
(CEP USM, 2024) Grigoras, Carolina; Gonţa, Maria; Ciocârlan, Alexandru
Propolis is a natural product with a complex chemical composition, which varies largely by geographical area and plant species visited by bees. Although the propolis collected from the same geographical area has similarities in chemical composition, specific compounds are also attested, due to the local flora. Over the years, numerous studies have been carried out on the chemical composition of propolis, but for the moment there is no common procedure for obtaining and analyzing propolis extracts, which makes it difficult to use the product in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. In the present study we aimed to analyze the chemical composition of propolis extracts obtained by maceration with the use of 60%, 70% and 80% ethyl alcohol as solvent, in order to identify the main compounds and analyze the influence of solvent concentration on the extraction of active ingredients. For this purpose, GC-MS and UV-Vis analysis were performed, which confirmed that the predominant constituents are flavanoids with unsubstituted B ring, a characteristic aspect of propolis originating from the temperate zone.

    EXTRACȚIA ȘI IMPLEMENTAREA COLORANȚILOR NATURALI
(CEP USM, 2024) Cojocaru, Ciprian; Ciocârlan, Alexandru
This study aims to obtain and characterize natural dyes from local plant sources and agro-industrial waste for use in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. For this purpose, Soxhlet and combined extraction methods were employed, followed by sample concentration and recrystallization. The extraction involved multiple steps to ensure the purity and quality of the dyes. Microscopic and spectral (FT-IR) analyses confirmed the presence of the natural dyes and demonstrating their potential applications. The study highlights the importance of utilizing agro-industrial waste to create sustainable products, thereby reducing environmental impact and promoting the circular economy. By converting waste into valuable resources, this approach contributes significantly to the economic development and environmental sustainability of the Republic of Moldova, supporting local industries and creating new job opportunities.

COMPOZIȚIA CHIMICĂ A ULEIULUI VOLATIL DE NARCIS (NARCISSUS POETICUS L.) LOCAL
(CEP USM, 2024) Ciocârlan, Alexandru; Arîcu, Aculina; Lungu, Lidia; Blaja, Svetlana; Dragalin, Ion; Popescu, Violeta
Species of the Narcissus genus are important sources of biologically active compounds frequently used in various fields. Concrete, absolute, extracts and essential oil obtained from Narcissus poeticus L. plants, due to their specific chemical composition, are unique ingredients for the perfumery industry in the development of luxury products and medicine. The chemical composition of the concrete obtained from local narcissus plants has been described previously. In this paper, the data regarding the extraction of absolute from concrete and its chemical composition are reported. As result of the GC-MS analysis, 16 constituents belonging to various classes of natural compounds were identified.

COMPUȘI NORLABDANICI BIOLOGIC ACTIVI. STUDIU COMPARATIV: TESTĂRILE IN VITRO VERSUS TESTUL DE ANDOCARE MOLECULARĂ
(CEP USM, 2024) Lungu, Lidia; Ciocârlan, Alexandru; Blaja, Svetlana; Vornicu, Nicoleta; Bolocan, Natalia; Arîcu, Aculina
The results of this paper describe the comparative study of in vitro assays compared to the molecular docking assay of biologically active oxygenated norlabdane compounds and terpeneheterocyclic hybrid compounds, obtained from (-)-sclareol, (+)-larixol and larixyl acetate. The in vitro antimicrobial activity of the obtained compounds was tested on fve strains of fungi and two species of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The results of the presented computational simulations correlate very well with the experimental outcome and highlight the three most active norlabdane compounds with heterocyclic fragment.
