ROLUL UNIVERSITĂŢILOR ÎN EVOLUŢIA PROCESULUI EDUCAŢIONAL ŞI A CIVILIZAŢIEI EUROPENE

Abstract

Universităţile sunt instituţii de învăţământ de sorginte europeană: constituite ca rezultat al evoluţiei culturii europene, ele s-au dezvoltat în corelaţie cu evoluţia şi cerinţele mediului cultural european. Acest tip de instituţii a generat învăţământul superior, care, la diverse etape, a exprimat, prin structură, curriculum şi modul de relaţionare dintre profesor şi student, particularităţile comunităţii europene. De rând cu alte elemente ale culturii europene, învăţământul superior este promovat de universităţi şi pe alte continente, unde se adaptează specificului sistemului socioeconomic şi contribuie la dezvoltarea acestuia. Universităţile europene reflectă perioadele de criză şi de avânt ale civilizaţiei din acest teritoriu. La momentul dat, ele sunt considerate o sursă a crizei din societate, însă, totodată, la începutul secolului al XXI-lea, sunt apreciate drept mijlocul cel mai eficient şi resursa de valoare care poate asigura evoluţia societăţii europene. Actualmente, pe ”bătrânul continent” s-a constituit un spaţiu al învăţământului superior care are misiunea de a valorifica potenţialul uman şi a contribui la prosperarea comunităţii europene, prin valorificarea cunoştinţelor, a coeziunii sociale şi a diversităţii culturaleUniversities are institutions of European origin: they have been established as a result of the evolution of European culture and have developed in a strong correlation with the progress and the requirements of the European cultural environment. This specific type of institutions generated higher education, expressing the peculiarities of the European community by means of their structure, curriculum, and relationship between students and teachers. Alongside other elements of European culture, higher education is being promoted across continents through universities, adapting to the specifics of the local socio-economic system and contributing to its development. European universities reflect the moments of crisis and progress in European civilization. They may be currently considered to be the source for crisis in society, but, simultaneously, at the beginning of the 21st century, they are appreciated as the most efficient and valuable resource that can ensure the evolution and the continuity of the European society. At the moment, the European continent hosts the EHEA (European Higher Education Area), whose mission is to capitalize on social capital and contribute to the prosperity of the European community by leveraging knowledge, social cohesion, and cultural diversity
