Abstract

This study analyzes the relationship between self-confidence and gender in a group of people with addictive behaviors. Starting from the main theoretical models that explain self-confidence through internal, external factors or combinations thereof, two instruments were used: The Romek V.G. test and The integrated self-confidence model, which differentiates internal and external dimensions of self-confidence. The results show that the general level of self-confidence of the researched group is moderate to low, without very high scores. Male participants more frequently obtained very low scores compared to female participants, who tend to have higher levels of self-confidence. The observed differences suggest the influence of social and cultural factors, highlighting the need for psychological interventions adapted to gender and social context.
