Abstract
Interesul sporit pentru studiul valorilor este determinat în societatea contemporană de mai mulţi factori, un rol important aparţinând schimbărilor semnificative produse în normele sociale şi extinderii proceselor de globalizare. Concomitent cu multiplicarea interdependenţelor dintre popoare la toate nivelurile creşte necesitatea ca asistenţii sociali să-şi revadă cunoştinţele şi practicile locale prin prisma evenimentelor şi perspectivelor internaţionale, marcate, în mod firesc, de dimensiuni interculturale. Asistenţa socială internaţională deţine, în condiţiile actule, un rol important în consolidarea valorilor democraţiei, justiţiei/echităţii sociale şi în implementarea convenţiilor internaţionale referitoare la drepturile omului, la prevenirea conflictelor şi menţinerea păcii prin promovarea integrării culturale globale. În articol sunt analizate mai multe clasificări ale valorilor asistenţei sociale, fiind evidenţiate un set de valori fundamentale, abordate şi ca principii morale de bază, care exprimă totalitatea exigenţelor de conduită morală corespunzătoare activităţii asistentului social, precum: respectul valorii înnăscute şi demnităţii fiecărei fiinţe umane (persoane asistate); recunoaşterea dreptului persoanei asistate la autodeterminare; acceptarea; individualizarea; toleranţa; obiectivitatea; confidenţialitatea; justiţia socială; integritatea profesională, recunoscute ca valori esenţiale de toate codurile etice/deontologice ale asistenţei sociale.
The increased interest for the study of values in contemporary society is determined by many factors, an important role belonging to the significant changes in social norms and extend the processes of globalization. Along with multiplication interdependencies between people at all levels, increases the need for social workers to review their local knowledge and practices through the events and international perspectives, marked, naturally, the intercultural dimension. International social work has, in actual conditions, an important role in strengthening democratic values, social justice/equity and the implementation of international conventions on human rights, conflict prevention and peace by promoting global cultural integration. The authors analyze several classifications of social values, making in evidence a set of fundamental values approached as a basic moral principles that expresses the requirements for ethical conduct adequate to the activity of social worker: respect the inherent dignity and worth of the person (assisted person); respect the right of assisted person to self-determination; acceptance; individualization; tolerance; objectivity; confidentiality; social justice; professional integrity, recognized as essential values by all codes of ethics.
