Abstract

Empirical research on the role and characteristics of administrative staff in high schools is limited, although there are conceptual approaches that broaden the scope of our understanding of them, no study has attempted to address the findings of previous qualitative and quantitative studies. This has led to a careful examination of this category, which is often ignored, but vital in the smooth running of high school activities. It also demonstrates how the intra and inter-organizational context, their interactions and characteristics moderate the studied relationships. By aggregating and consolidating existing research, our study not only reveals new perspectives on the levers and outcomes of inter-organizational interactions, but also provides meaningful directions for future research, strengthening research on secretarial-student relationships, teachers, managers and its consequences.
