Abstract
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) used in virtual learning environments offers the immediate
feedback, as well as, individual, collaborative and group based assessment. Individual feedback is replaced by process
oriented feedback. According to constructivism theory, feedback is focused on selective and comparative presentation of
curricular objectives. Students’ achievements are analyzed by considering reproductive answers. The article offers an
overview of the literature on computer based assessment concept. Also forms and design stages of the computerized
tests are presented. The work describes the practical application of case study in summative assessment and of the
electronic portfolios in the formative assessment.
