The International Labour Organization plays a significant role in this process by promoting decent work conditions so that everybody could work under conditions of freedom, equity, security and human dignity. It is necessary to take specific measures required by the nature of night work, which shall be taken for night workers in order to protect their health, assist them to meet their family and social responsibilities, provide opportunities for occupational advancement, and compensate them appropriately.
