Item CONCEPTUL „DOR” EMINESCIAN ÎN CÂTEVA VERSIUNI RUSEȘTI Liuba PROCOPII(Editura USM, 2024) Procopii, LiubaThe word “dor” is a purely Romanian word that can hardly be translated into other languages. Especially when this concept in folklore or cultured poetry takes on so many meanings: longing for mother, home, country, country, dear woman, freedom, but also mourning, and sorrow, and sadness, etc. In Eminescu’s poetry “dor” is one of the key words and it is very difficult for translators of the poet’s poetry into Russian to find plausible equivalents for this word. What are the translators’ versions, how is this word interpreted in Russian - these are the author’s concerns in this article.Item Poezia „Limba Noastră” de Alexei Mateevici în versiune rusă [Articol](CEP USM, 2025) Procopii, LiubaThe translation of artistic works, especially poetry, has always caused many difficulties and even contradictions. The difficulties are of different nature: factual, cultural, semantic, syntactic, expressive, etc. Contradictory are the ways of translating the poetic work, that eternal dilemma of the translator: accuracy or expressiveness, truth or metaphor, precision or beauty? In the present commentary we are going to analyse how a work by Alexei Mateevici is translated into a Russian poetic, but also civic version, of undeniable importance for our people, the poem “Our Language” by Alexei Mateevici in Russian.
