Item CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF DAMASK ROSE (ROSA DAMASCENA MILL.) CONCRETE OF MOLDAVIAN ORIGIN(CEP USM, 2022-09-29) Popescu, VioletaItem COMPOZIȚIA CHIMICĂ A ULEIULUI VOLATIL DE NARCIS (NARCISSUS POETICUS L.) LOCAL(CEP USM, 2024) Ciocârlan, Alexandru; Arîcu, Aculina; Lungu, Lidia; Blaja, Svetlana; Dragalin, Ion; Popescu, VioletaSpecies of the Narcissus genus are important sources of biologically active compounds frequently used in various fields. Concrete, absolute, extracts and essential oil obtained from Narcissus poeticus L. plants, due to their specific chemical composition, are unique ingredients for the perfumery industry in the development of luxury products and medicine. The chemical composition of the concrete obtained from local narcissus plants has been described previously. In this paper, the data regarding the extraction of absolute from concrete and its chemical composition are reported. As result of the GC-MS analysis, 16 constituents belonging to various classes of natural compounds were identified.Item COMPOZIŢIA CHIMICĂ ŞI ACTIVITATEA ANTIMICROBIANĂ A ULEIULUI VOLATIL DE CORIANDRU (CORIANDRUM SATIVUM L.)(CEP USM, 2021) Popescu, VioletaThe results of chemical composition, spectral analysis and antimicrobial assessment of industrially produced Coriandrum sativum L. essential oil are reported. The gas chromatographymass spectrometry analysis allowed the identification of 32 components belonging to terpenes (26,43%), aliphatic compounds (71,91%) and heterocycles (0,99%). The chemical composition of the oil was confirmed by spectral IR and NMR analysis. The essential oil of C. sativum exhibited high antimicrobial activity against five strains of bacteria and three species of fungi.Item EFFECT OF SOME ESSENTIAL OILS ON Acanthoscelides obtectus SAY (COLEOPTERA: BRUCHIDAE) AND Tetranychus urticae KOCH, (ACARI: TETRANYCHIDAE) ADULTS(CEP USM, 2024-10-07) Muntyan, Elena; Ciocarlan, Alexandru; Kulcitki, Veaceslav; Batco, Mihail; Aricu, Aculina; Lungu, Lidia; Blaja, Svetlana; Popescu, VioletaIn search of new and safe pesticides, the toxicity of volatile oils obtained from three plant species against Acanthoscelides obtectus and Tetranychus urticae adults was studied. The essential oils of peppermint (Mentha piperita L), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L) and coriander (Coriandrum sativum L) showed higher toxicity on mites than on weevils. The peppermint and rosemary essential oils demonstrated efficacy against A. obtectus in both fumigant and acute contact toxicity tests. The peppermint and coriander essential oils had the most pronounced fumigant toxicity to mites, with LT50 of 2.5 and 3.7 h, respectively, at 5 µg/cm³ air and are the most promising sources of natural substances with acaricidal properties.Item Effect of some essential oils on Acanthoscelides obtectus Say (coleoptera: bruchidae) and Tetranychus urticae koch, (acari: tetranychidae) adults(CEP USM, 2024) Muntyan, Elena; Ciocarlan, Alexandru; Kulcitki, Veaceslav; Batco, Mihail; Aricu, Aculina; Lungu, Lidia; Blaja, Svetlana; Popescu, VioletaIn search of new and safe pesticides, the toxicity of volatile oils obtained from three plant species against Acanthoscelides obtectus and Tetranychus urticae adults was studied.
