Conștiință de neam sau conștiință națională în Moldova secolului XVII? Opinii și interpretări [Articol]
(Lexon-Prim, 2023) Purici, Ştefan; Pintescu, Florin
The paper presents and analyses the opinions of Grigore Ureche and Miron Costin regarding the unity of Romanians from the Carpatho-Danubian-Pontic space and their Latinity, interpreted in a double perspective: from the point of view of Romanian historians, regarding the notions of „neam” (the word cannot be properly translated into English; „folks” represents just an approximation) and „nation”; from the point of view of the ”perennialist” historiographical school regarding the nation. The last part of the analysis starts from the fact that the ”perennialist” school claims that the nation and national consciousness appeared before the Modern Age.
