In the crystal of I, each of the two copper atoms coordinates a singly deprotonated tridentate azomethine molecule, a nitrate ion, and bipyridine, which functions as a bridge between the central atoms. The copper coordination polyhedron is a slightly distorted tetragonal pyramid with the base formed by the imine and bipyridine nitrogen atoms and the phenol and alcohol oxygen atoms. The axial site in the pyramid is occupied by the oxygen atom of the monodentate nitrate groups. In the trinuclear structure II with C2 crystal chemical symmetry, the terminal coordination unit is composed through copper coordination of monodeprotonated 2-[2-(hydroxyethylimino)methyl]phenol, bipyridine, and the nitrate anion. In the crystal, the trinuclear molecules form infinite ribbons along the z axis in which the pyridine molecules perform the bridging function. The central copper atom has an octahedral configuration formed by the nitrogen atoms of four 4,4'-bipyridine molecules and oxygen of two water moleculesItem CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF [Co(thios) 3 ] 2 [Bidtpa] 2 (NCS)(OH)⋅8H2O(Academia de Ştiinţe a Moldovei, 2006) Petrenko, Peter A.; Bulimestru, Ion; Simonov, Yurii A.; Gdaniec, Maria; Gulea, AurelianBismuth-based mixed-oxides have been studied extensively for a number of potentially useful physical properties like oxygen ion conductivity, ferroelectricity, superconductivity and catalysts in different oxidation processes. The use of bismuth complexes as precursors for new heterometallic oxide systems turned out to be a more effective route compared to traditional ceramic synthesis. Thus, controlled pyrolysis of alkoxide, carboxylate or polyaminopolycarboxylate precursors has frequently been used to synthesize highly dispersed bismuth containing mixed-oxides and solid solutions. Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (H5Dtpa) gives numerous stable complexes with d, f, and p elements, including Bi. Most frequently, complexes with H5Dtpa are more stable than those with its analogues. Recently, we have characterized two heterometallic coordination compounds, [Co(thios)3]2[Bi(Dtpa)]2SO4·6H2O (I) and [Co(thios)3]4[BiDtpa]4⋅(SO4)2⋅20H2O (II) containing complex cations and anions (thios=thiosemicarbazide). In this work we present synthesis and crystal structure of a new heterometallic compound [Co(thios)3]2[BiDtpa]2⋅(NCS)(OH)⋅8H2O (III) (see fig.). The crystal structure of III is built of complex cations [Co(thios)3]3+, three types of anions [Bi(Dtpa)]2-, [NCS]2-, (OH)- and water molecules. The Bi atom coordination polyhedron is a nanohedron and its coordination number is nine. The coordination of Dtpa residues to the bismuth atom gives rise to five glycine and two ethylenediamine metallocycles which are essentially non-planar. The complex cation [Co(thios)3]3+ is a typical Co(III) tristhiosemicarbazide fac-isomer.Item CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF MONOPROTONATED NI(II) NITRILOTRIACETATE TETRAHYDRATE(2004) Petrenko, Peter A.; Gdaniec, Maria; Simonov, Iurie; Stăvilă, Vitalie; Gulea, AurelianA Ni(II) complex of the composition Ni(HNta)·4H 2O (I) was synthesized. Its structure was found to consist of neutral mononuclear [Ni(HNta)(H 2O) 3] complexes and crystallization water molecules. The Ni atom has octahedral surrounding and is coordinated to tridentate-chelate HNta 2- ligand through the N atom and O atoms of two deprotonated acetate groups and through the O atoms of three water molecules. The structure of I was compared with those of the Zn(HNta)·4H 2O and Co(HNta)·4H 2O complexes isostructural to I. Thermogravimetric method showed that the decomposition of compound I occurs through several successive stages of dehydration, deaquation, decarboxylation, and the formation of inorganic residue.Item CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF NITRATE TRIS (4-ALLYLTHIOSEMICARBAZIDE)- CHROMIUM(III) HYDRATE(2016) Ciumacov, Iurie; Petrenko, Peter A.; Graur, Vasilii; Țapcov, Victor; Gulea, AurelianThe crystal structure of nitrate tris(4-allylthiosemicarbazide)chromium(III) hydrate [CrL3](NO3)3(H2O)1.05 (I), where L is 4-allylthiosemicarbazide, is determined. The asymmetric unit of the cell of the crystal structure of I contains a complex of a chromium ion with three bidentate coordinated molecules L. The outer coordination sphere of the central atom contains a disordered water molecule and three nitrate ions. The coordination polyhedron of the chromium atom in complex I is an octahedron. In the crystal, the complexes of the compound under study are joined with each other by the outer-sphere nitrato groups into a three-dimensional branched net of hydrogen bonds.Item CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF THE ACETIC ACID SOLVATE OF N-(PROP-2-EN-1-YL)-2-(PYRID-2- YLMETHYLIDENE)HYDRAZINECARBOSELENOAMIDE(2018) Ciumacov, Iurie; Petrenko, Peter A.; Graur, Vasilii; Țapcov, Victor; Gulea, AurelianThe crystal structure of the acetic acid solvate of N-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-2-(pyrid-2- ylmethylidene)hydrazinecarboselenoamide (I) is determined. The asymmetric unit of the unit cell in its crystal structure contains a molecule of I and an acetic acid molecule. The molecule of I is non-planar; the angle between the mean square planes of hydrazinecarboselenoamide A(Sе1N1N2N3С1C2) and prop-2-en-1-yl (С5С6C7) moieties is 82.3°. In the crystal, the acetic acid molecules link the molecules of I in endless chains along the [010] direction.Item THE CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF IMIDAZOLE-[2-(2-HYDROXО-BENZYLIDENE)- N-(PROP-2-EN-1 YL)HYDRAZINCARBOTHIOAMIDE]-COPPER(II) AND (3,5- DIBROMOPYRIDINE)-[2-(2-HYDROXОBENZYLIDENE)-N-(PROP-2-EN-1- YL)HYDRAZINECARBOTHIOAMIDE]COPPER(II) NITRATES(Academia de Ştiinţe a Moldovei, 2015) Petrenko, Peter A.; Graur, Vasilii О.; Chumakov, Yurii; Smaglii, Vadim; Tsapkov, Victor I.; Crudu, Valeriu; Eftodii, Sergiu; Gulea, AurelianItem CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF NITRATO-COPPER(II) COMPLEXES COMPRISING 4,4’ -BIPYRIDYL AND SALICYLIDEN- OR NAPHTHALIDENAMINOETHANOL(Academia de Ştiinţe a Moldovei, 2006) Chumakov, Yurii; Petrenko, Peter A.; Tsapkov, Victor I.; Bocelli, Gabriele; Gulea, AurelianCopper (II) nitrate with 2-[2-(hydroxyethylimino)-methyl]-phenol (H2L), 2-[2(hydroxyethylimino)-methyl]-naphtol (H2L1) and heterocyclic amines has been found to generate polynuclear coordination compounds with antimicrobial properties. It was established that polynuclear complexes are formed depending on the nature of the proton-accepting agent, pH and temperature of the reaction mixture. The structure of these compounds, dentate number of the nitrate group, physicochemical properties and antimicrobial activity are determined by the nature of these amines. It was of great interest to study how the replacement of different amines by 4,4’-bipyridyl (Bipy) affects the complex structure. In connection with this, we have synthesized complexes [Cu3(Bipy)3(H2O)2(HL)2(NO3)4]n (I) and [Cu2(Bipy)(HL1)2(NO3)2] (II), where L = 2-[(2-Hydroxy-ethylimino)methyl]-phenol, L1 = 1-[(2-Hydroxyethylimino)methyl]-naphthalen-2-ol, and determined their crystal structures by X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal structure I consists of polymeric bands [Cu3(Bipy)3(H2O)2(HL)2(NO3)4] along [001] direction. The coordination polyhedra of Cu(1) and of Cu(2) are tetragonal bipyramids. The basic structural unit of II is the binuclear complex [(HL1)(NO3)Cu(Bipy)Cu(NO3)(HL1)] which forms the crystal structure II by means of multiple hydrogen bonds.Item CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF NITRATO-{2-[2-(1-PYRIDINE-2-YLETHYLIDENE)HYDRAZINE]-1,3-BENZOTHIAZOLO}AQUACOPPER AND CHLORO-{2-[2-PHENYL(PYRIDINE-2-YLETHYLIDENE)HYDRAZINE]-1,3-BENZOTHIAZOLO}COPPER(2015) Ciumacov, Iurie; Paholnițcaia, Anastasia; Petrenko, Peter A.; Țapcov, Victor; Poirier, Donald; Gulea, AurelianTwo crystal modifications of nitrato-{2-[2-(1-pyridine-2-ylethylidene)hydrazine]-1,3-benzothiazolo}aquacopper (I and II) and two modifications of chloro-{2-[2-phenyl(pyridine-2-ylethylidene)hydrazine]-1,3-benzothiazolo}copper (III and IV) have been synthesized and studied by X-ray diffraction. In structures I and II, the copper atoms coordinate a monodeprotonated molecule of the organic ligand, nitrate ions, and a water molecule. In crystals of I, the complexes are monomeric, whereas complexes II are linked via nitrate ions to form polymeric chains. In both structures the coordination polyhedron of the copper atom can be described as a distorted tetragonal bipyramid—(4 + 1 + 1) in I and (4 + 2) in II. These coordination polyherdra have different compositions. In structures III and IV, the metal atoms coordinate a monodeprotonated {2-[2-phenyl(pyridine-2-ylethylidene)hydrazine]-1,3-benzothiazole molecule and chloride ions. In III the complex-forming ion has square-planar coordination geometry, whereas structure IV consists of centrosymmetric dimers with two bridging chlorine atoms. It was found that nitrato-{2-[2-(1-pyridine-2-ylethylidene)hydrazine]-1,3-benzothiazolo}aquacopper possesses antitumor activity.Item SOME NEW Cu(II), Co(II) AND Ni(II) COMPLEXES CONTAINING AN ONS DONOR THIOSEMICARBAZONE: SYNTHESIS, CRYSTAL STRUCTURES AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY.(Academia de Ştiinţe a Moldovei, 2015) Pahontu, Elena Mihaela; Julea, Felicia; Chumakov, Yurii; Petrenko, Peter A.; Roşu, Tudor; Gulea, AurelianItem SYNTHESIS AND ANTILEUKAEMIA ACTIVITY OF N-(2,4-DIMETHYLPHENYL)HYDRAZINE CARBOTHIOAMIDE AND ITS AZOMETHINE DERIVATIVES(2012) Gulea, Aurelian; Barba, Alic; Jalbă, Alexandru; Poirier, Donald; Petrenko, Peter A.; Ciumacov, Iurie; Sargun, ArturPrezenta lucrare conţine date despre sinteza, caracterizarea şi evaluarea in vitro a activităţii biologice a N-(2,4-dimetilfenil)hidrazinocarbotioamidei şi a cinci derivaţi azometinici ai acesteia, obţinuţi prin condensarea N-(2,4-dimetilfenil)hidrazincarbotioamidei cu diferiţi compuşi carbonilici.
