Item EUROPEAN COOPERATIVE SECURITY SYSTEM AND COMPLEX INTERDEPENDENCE(2013) Teosa, Valentina; Mija, ValeriuThe research paper analyzes the creation of complex combination of several international organizations in Europe, which are also sustained by the European Union (EU). The research argues that the current political and economic situation in the EU zone appears as a complex interdependence, which has also become attractive for the EU Neighborhood, especially for the Eastern Partnership. Furthermore, the European Union security experts talk more and more in light of the Kantian and Wilsonian ideas – cooperative security. In fact, the imaginary European complex interdependence has been also accompanied by cooperative security and defense commitments. Meanwhile, this research argues that the emerging European cooperative security and defense system has been evolving smoothly also due to strong collective defense guarantees during the last 60 years – the NATO factor. The European states, being in inevitable-long cooperation in the EU and NATO, have achieved a sense of common political-security identity and community, which is necessary for the long-term international cooperation and stability. Furthermore, this common political and security identity in Europe was achieved by democratic states with free market economies, which also attract the EU Eastern neighboring states. Meanwhile, at this moment to retain a global role, the EU community should not ignore this factor along with a timely-proved Euro-Atlantic security link.Item EVOLUŢIA STATELOR NEUTRE DIN EUROPA ÎN CADRUL SISTEMULUI INTERNAŢIONAL BIPOLAR(2014) Mija, ValeriuThe research presents an empirical analysis of the performance of European neutral states, Austria, Finland and Sweden, at the international arena during the Cold War. The study was focused on these states since their neutralities were either the Bi-polarity’s product (Austria, Finland) or the necessity to strategically adapt itself in Bi-polarity (Sweden). The comparative investigations is conducted to identify and explain recently-historical similarities and differences of these states’ neutrality foreign policies in order to understand current and future tendencies of European neutral states in the framework of modern international security.Item INFLUENŢA STRUCTURILOR SECURITĂŢII INTERNAŢIONALE CONTEMPORANE ASUPRA STATELOR POSTSOVIETICE CU O CAPACITATE GEOPOLITICĂ MODESTĂ(CEP USM, 2016) Mija, ValeriuNational states with a geopolitical modest capacity are more capable to strategically adapt to international security environment than to shape or to influence it. Respectively, prospects of such states, such as the Republic of Moldova, will depend on the evolution of contemporary security environment as well as on ability to promote policies of strategic adaptation. International security environment assessment demonstrates that historical key transformations and new challenges contribute to the formation of a particular international world order with an international regime, which is a foundation of the structure of the international system. The latter, directly or indirectly, influence European and post-Soviet states. The Analysis of modern international security through the main paradigms of international relations theory determines that current European security system structure has international neoliberal regime as its foundation, which respectively influence over European small states. Meantime, the regional situation around the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are sensitive because two different international systemic structures - EU / NATO and the CIS - have geopolitical border zone around both countries. The prospects of small states positioned within the EU systemic structure will be much similar due to international neoliberal regime’s influence on states’ foreign policy. The EU with its principles, norms, rules and decision-making procedures of solidarity eventually remodels European national identities and foreign policies toward collective and solidary ones. Correspondingly, foreign and security policies of most European states will be influenced by the effects of international neoliberal structure, if international status quo continues. Prospects of some former Soviet states in the contemporary international security environment can be more precisely assessed by comparing with the experience of some European states during bipolarity.Item INTERNATIONAL SECURITY ORGANIZATIONS: FROM COMMUNITY BUILDING IDENTITY FORMATION(Academia de Administrare Publică, 2014) Mija, Valeriu; Teosa, ValentinaThe research analyzes evolution of international security organizations in the modern historical periods. The research focuses on the United Nations and on European international environment. Majority international relation s experts consider that European enlightenment s ideas on collective and cooperative security became the foundation for several historical attempts to create a global international security organization. Such international institution would transform the anarchical world order into an organized international order, where legal and morale norms would have the supremacy over political intentions to resolve disagreements by military conflicts. As a result, international cooperation prospectively contributes to international community building, which influences national identity becomes a pre-requisite to arhieve international cooperative security.Item NEUTRALITATEA REPUBLICII MOLDOVA PRIN PRISMA POLITICILOR DE SECURITATE ALE UNOR STATE EUROPENE NEUTRE(CEP USM, 2017) Mija, ValeriuItem NEUTRALITEA REPUBLICII MOLDOVA PRIN PRISMA POLITICILOR DE SECURITATE ALE UNOR STATE EUROPENE NEUTRE(2016) Mija, Valeriu; Teosa, ValentinaScopul lucrării constă în cercetarea teoretico-conceptuală și analitico-aplicativă a neutralității Republicii Moldova prin prisma studiului locului, rolului și perspectivelor statelor neutre europene în contextul securităţii internaţionale, ca un considerent strategic pentru determinarea funcționalității politicii de neutralitate a Republicii Moldova.
