Item ADAPTIVE CAPACITY OF THE FAGUS SYLVATICA L. POPULATION FROM THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC(CEP USM, 2022-09-29) Elisovețcaia, Dina; Ivanova, Raisa; Ciorchina, Petru; Brindza, JánItem Approach to assessing the state of plant biological systems by entropy(CEP USM, 2024-10-07) Ivanova, Raisa; Tatarov, Pavel; Brindza, JanThis work reviewed the dynamics of changes in the state of walnut fruits (Juglans regia L.) and American pokeweed berries (Phytolacca americana L.) from the point of view of the thermodynamic laws of biological systems. The development of fruits/berries, accompanied by the exchange of substances and energy with the external environment, and the principles of changes in the entropy of biological systems throughout the entire life cycle are presented. An increase or decrease in the rate of change in the entropy of some system is associated with its transition to the next stage of the life cycle or the beginning of a new cycle.Item CHANGES IN GROWTH REACTIONS OF ENCRUSTED MAIZE SEEDS DURING STORAGE(CEP USM, 2024) Borovskaia, Alla; Lutcan, Elena; Ivanova, Raisa; Mascenco, Natalia; Vanicovici, NicolaiThe purpose of the research was to study the effect of storage time on biometric parameters during the germination of encrusted seeds. A differential effect of seed encrustation on germi nation, growth of roots and seedlings depending on the hybrid was revealed. After 12 months of storage, the encrusted seeds showed an increase in overall germination by 2.0-5.5% compared to intact seeds. It has been established that pre-sowing encrustation of maize seeds with a bio conjugate containing the genistifoliosides, biologically active substances of natural origin, and a film-forming agent (sodium salt of carboxymethylcellulose) helps to preserve the sowing qualities of seeds during long-term storage and improves the biometric parameters of germinated seeds.Item Effect of X-ray radiation on the viability of European beech seeds(CEP USM, 2024-10-07) Elisovetcaia, Dina; Ivanova, Raisa; Fedorenco, ElenaFagus sylvatica seeds from the "Plaiul Fagului" Natural Reserve, Republic of Moldova (PF-23) were treated in peeled (without pericarp) and unpeeled (with pericarp) form with X-ray doses from 25 to 425 Gy. No linear dependence of the viability of both peeled and unpeeled seeds on the radiation dose was established using the hydrogen peroxide test (HP). The use of the Indigo-carmine test (IC) made it possible to reveal a linear dependence of the viability of beech seeds (with pericarp) on the irradiation dose of X-rays. X-ray treatment in doses from 50 to 300 Gy reduced seed viability in the range from 39.53 to 48.84% (limit 50%); X-rays treatment above 600 Gy reduced seed viability by 67.44% or more.Item Impactul temperaturii și a extractului vegetal asupra germinării porumbului(CEP USM, 2024) Luțcan, Elena; Ivanova, Raisa; Borovskaia, Alla; Elisovețcaia, Dina; Spînu, AngelaThe aim was to assess the physiological peculiarities of food corn germination influenced by the extract (JS), obtained from the plant Juniperus sabina L., and to evaluate the combined impact of high temperature at 50°C and treatment with JS. The corn seeds such as super sweet Porumbeni 300 (P300), popcorn Porumbeni 398 (P398) and corn for flour Porumbeni 402 (P402) were studied. Based on the data of oweral germination changes, the seeds of P398 and P402 hybrids were more resistant to heat stress compared to P300 seeds. The JS extract acted as a plant growth regulator, the greatest effect was evaluated in the seed treatment of hybrid P402.Item NATURAL DYES FROM POKEWEED BERRIES: EXTRACTION PROCEDURES AND STABILITY(CEP USM, 2022-09-29) Ivanova, Raisa; Brindza, JánItem QUALITY CHANGES DURING STORAGE OF BEECH SEEDS COLLECTED FROM DIFFERENT PLACES(CEP USM, 2023) Elisovetcaia, Dina; Ivanova, Raisa; Popovschi, Ecaterina; Mascenco, NataliaIn this study, the changes in quality of Fagus sylvatica seeds collected in 2020 from different places of the Republic of Moldova (Plaiul Fagului, Hîrjauca) and Ukraine (Zakarpattia) on the third year of storage were evaluated. Beech seeds quality maintenance depended on the values of moisture, initial viability and seeds germination. The seeds from the Plaiul Fagului with a higher initial germination 76.7-84.0% and lower moisture content (8.69-9.24%) slightly reduced their quality during storage, by 1.0-2.3%.The germination indices such as germination rate, mean daily germination, average seed germination time, total time of seed germination, were improved by treatment of stored seeds with the natural bioregulator, genistifolioside. Treatment with genistifolioside also contributed to the elongation of seed roots by 17- 24% in all variants.
