It includes: developing strategic goals and a strategic plan to get there, understanding and developing the business achitecture, selecting the right solution approaches for projects and developing their business cases, and initiating projects and making sure they deliver value to the bank. All of these things are strategic activities that bookend the bank’s monitoring.

Risks arising from the Bank's various activities are rigorously monitored by a risk control unit. The Internal Audit function, which has the same internal reporting lines as Risk Control, focuses much of its attention on monitoring the soundness of the banking operations.
