    The dynamics of the current social relations in the present day era, still remain co-dependent on doctrines such as punishment and sanctions – procedures which are embodied by the law in various manners. One of the oldest and well-establish sanction in time, but also in practice is the fine- a classical, pecuniary and easy to understand penalty. In the realm of Contravention law– the fine has its own distinct features, with specific procedures, with numerous advantages, and at the same time- with subtle, but weighing weaknesses. The present paper breaks down the particularities and the procedures applicable to the contravention fine, some substitutes for the fine, and it delves on the question: Presently, does the contravention fine fulfill the aim pursued by the contravention law through the system of sanctions that it features?
