Public procurement is important because it involves the use of public money and is part of our everyday life. Public administrations purchase works, goods and services for their citizens: these purchases must be made in the most efficient way. Public procurement also provides opportunities for businesses, thereby encouraging private investment and contrbuting directly and indirectly to economic growth and job creation. Finally, public procurement plays an important role in channeling European structural and investment funds. Public procurement represents the sum of all the processes of planning, setting priorities, organizing, advertising and procedures, in order to make purchases by organizations that are fully or partially financed by public budgets.
