    Human rights and fundamental freedoms are essential for all human beings, needing to be protected, promoted and guaranteed by law, their respect representing the pillar of freedom in a democratic state. being a main objective of the internal and external policy of the Republic of Moldova, the process of democratization and European integration focuses on establishing clear objectives for the development and modernization of the state in various fields, including the political, legal, economic and scientific fields. The development of these goals requires the consolidation of fundamental human rights and freedoms, this being one of the guarantees of peace and political transformations, the consistency of security and democracy, the sustainability and multidimensional development of the state.

    PROVOCĂRI CONTEMPORANE DE SECURITATE ÎN ERA DIGITALĂ

    This article focuses on the analysis of the subject of contemporary security challenges in the digital age in the context of the democratization process of the Republic of Moldova, a complex and multidimensional process, which requires the involvement of political actors, but also of society in all segments, mainly in the implementation of political and economic reforms, of citizens’ security, with respect for fundamental human rights, free and fair elections and the achievement of the proposed European objectives. The sharp advancement of digital technologies in strategic fields such as the energy sector, health, education or transport, open up various opportunities and offer a range of solutions for efficient activity, simultaneously increasing the degree of cyber threats including the multiple security challenges facing the Republic of Moldova, accentuated against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, but not least the war in Ukraine, requiring actions dedicated to security to focus on concrete directions that reduce security risks and threats on a national and international level.

    UE-REPUBLICA MOLDOVA: FORTIFICAREA SIGURANȚEI PERSOANELOR REFUGIATE DIN UCRAINA

    The escalation of the armed conflict in Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, has created an unprecedented situation, causing civilian casualties, forcing people to leave their homes to seek refuge and safety, both within the country and across the borders of neighboring states. one of which is the Republic of Moldova. Considering the magnitude of the emergency situation created and the need for support and protection, in the Republic of Moldova programs and strategies have begun to be developed and implemented to support refugees, and at the European level - actions to support the states that host refugees, focusing - mainly on supporting the governments of the host states in accordance with international standards. In this sense, in the given article, the necessity of researching public policies as supporting tools, which ensure the respect of human rights and the strengthening of the safety of refugees from Ukraine, is outlined.
