    The meaning of any company, including the tourism industry, is largely determined by the human factor, and its effectiveness is determined by the behavior of individuals within it. Highly qualified staff becomes one of the essential factors for the successful development of tourism activities and for ensuring a high level of services expected by tourists. Activities in the tourism industry include occupations in various sectors such as accommodation, provisioning, recreation, transportation, souvenir trading, tour operators, and travel agencies. Thus, tourism sectors are associated with a wide range of diverse occupations with multiple human factor requirements.

    This article describes the role of university in educating the younger generation and developing their skills to participate in achieving the goals of sustainable economic development, but also by demonstrating student behavior as consumers in the context of environmental changes in society. The purpose of the research is to develop the action plan for the sustainable commitment of the Moldova State University, based on the experience of other universities in the world.
