Glycine, Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), Glutamate, and Aspartate are neurotransmitter amino acids. It was examined 24 patients with chronic hepatopathy: 12 patients with chronic HBV infection (group I) and 12 patients with hepatic steatosis (group II), the control group (CG) consisted of 12 practically healthy individuals. Quantitative determination of Aspartate, Glutamate, Glycine and GABA in blood serum was carried out using liquid chromatography. In I-st group of patients the level of Glycine was 18.76±1.45, GABA - 0.83±0.06, Aspartate – 5.56±0.97, and Glutamate – 6.34±0.70 mcM/dL. In II-nd group: the level of Glycine was 22.37±0.91, GABA - 0.77±0.03, Aspartate – 5.16±0.74, and Glutamate – 7.87±1.47 mcM/dL. In CG: the level of Glycine y was 22.93±2.21, GABA – 0.55±0.06, Aspartate – 2.69±0.45, and Glutamate – 12.46±1.92 mcM/dL. A violation of neurotransmitter amino acids metabolism is found in chronic hepatopathy. A decrease in glycine and glutamate was observed in patient’s blood serum, with an increase in GABA and aspartate. These disorders are most profound in individuals with chronic viral infection B.Item The COVID-19 infection causes systemic intravascular coagulopathy, with acute respiratory distress syndrome development and multiorgan failure. Platelets are blood cells that mediate hemostasis and their dysfunction can be manifested by thrombocytopenia, or hyperactivation. SARSCoV-2 causes platelets’ hyperactivation with an inflammatory cytokine releasing with a blood coagulation disorder, followed by acute severe distress syndrome and thrombocytopenia in 55% of patients. There were examined 44 patients divided according BMI: gr. 1 BMI =30-34.9 kg/m², gr. 2, BMI = 35-39.9 gr. 3 BMI >40, group 4 served a control group, consisted from COVID-19 infected patients with a normal weight. The number of platelets was reduced in 3 gr.-183±30 10³/un.l, compared to 4 gr. – 238.7±40 10³/un.l p≤0.001. Platelet index PCT was higher in 3 gr. – 0.36±0.03, p≤0.01 compared to 4 gr. – 0.27±0.01(fl). C-reactive protein level was higher as well in 3 gr.– 48.6±2.6 mg/l, compared to 4 gr. – 45.3±8 mg/l, p≤0.001. On the background of thrombocytopenia in all evaluated groups, depending on BMI, there was an increase in platelet indexes, PCT and Creactive protein level.Item Физиологическое значение и методы диагностики жировой ткани у пациентов с хроническими гепатопатиями(Editura USM, 2024) Головатюк, Людмила; Лупашко, Юлианна; Березовская, ЕленаExcess body weight is a serious health problem. Adipose tissue is involved in metabolic disorders formation. White and brown adipose tissue are organs that have anatomical, functional and genetic diversity. The aim: to study the functions and physiological significance and diagnostic methods of adipose tissue in patients with chronic hepatopathies. There were examined 591 patients with chronic hepatopathies: 177 with BMI <25 (Group I), 228 with BMI 25-30 (Group II) and 186 patients with BMI >30 kg/m2 (Group III). In group I, BMI was 23.20 ± 0.19 kg/m², and waist circumference was 89.62 ± 0.73 cm; in group II, these indicators were: 27.62 ± 0.12 and 99.32 ± 0.61 respectively, and in group III: 34.21 ± 0.32 and 112.32 ± 0.82, respectively. The highest percentage of body fat and visceral fat indexes were observed in patients with BMI >30 kg/m2. Diagnosis of metabolic disorders in patients with chronic hepatopathies should include BMI and waist circumference evaluation, and, if necessary, supplemented by determining the percentage of fat and visceral fat data using bioimpedance analysis.
