It compares soils under natural forest with 100-year-old arable soils and soils previously used in agriculture and subsequently transformed under steppe conditions. Agricultural conversion merged forest soil horizons (AEhț, AEh, BEhtw), resulting in reduced humus content and illuvial-eluvial processes, reduced soil resistance to compaction, leading to soil’s physical structure degradation and soil compaction.
