ISBN 978-9975-62-688-0.The article provides a brief presentation of the historiography and conceptual-theoretical bases of the self-advocacy of people with disabilities. The article analysis the contributions of researchers from the Western Europe, the USA, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Republic of Moldova, who address the issues of self-advocacy and social inclusion of people with disabilities. The article also analyzes how the concept of self-advocacy was introduced in the international academic discourse. The innovative element of this article consists in the scientifc substantiation and the introduction of the concept of self-advocacy of people with disabilities into the feld of study within the Republic of Moldova, provided that it has not yet been addressed in the local specialized literature. In the preparation of the article, an extensive review of specialized literature in the feld was carried out, with the application of general scientifc methods, including analysis, synthesis, generalization, inductive and deductive methods.rodizabilitatereprezentareArticle
