Students enrolled at teacher training programmes become the agents for sharing European values, for reacting thoughtfully when they deal with otherness and for promoting cultures across Europe. Knowledge of languages is not only beneficial for work, travel or sharing information. The purpose of the study is to establish a relationship between foreign languages, the intercultural competence and the practical response of educational programmes to building the intercultural competence.
