Patrology has been placed as a separate discipline in the history section of the Russian theological education. From the early years nineteenth century started the studying of the life, the Saint Fathers works and teachings. There appeared a series of translations of the most representative Patrology treaties from Greek and Latin, also from other European languages. The Russians began to learn various religious figures throughout translations in the Russian language. There follows an exchange of experiences between various theological institutions, Russian and others from abroad.
