The author emphasizes that when investigating a particular issue, the historian / researcher uses various historical sources, and lists of the population and statistical documents are important sources for studying the history of Bessarabia.В данном исследовании, основанном на богатом фактологическом материале, автор анализирует два вида исторических источников для изучения демографических и социально-экономических вопросов Бессарабии в Новое время – списки населения (особенно ревизские сказки) и официальную российскую статистику.
